We are located in the charming town of Dois Irmãos, within the Porto Alegre Metropolitan Region, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. We are 60 km from the capital of Rio Grande do Sul and close to important tourist regions such as Gramado (50 km), Vale dos Vinhedos (100 km) and the UNESCO Geopark Cânions do Sul (150 km).

Tectos derives from tékton, a word of Greek origin meaning "to build," "to construct." In Geosciences, it appears in several important terms, related to various scales, such as geotectonics and plate tectonics (elements that build the planet), and in the term tectosilicate (the most abundant group of minerals in the Earth's crust). This word is directly linked to the foundations of Tectos: building knowledge from the micro to the macro scales.
