Who we are
Our mission is to transform questions into discoveries
Tectos is a private research laboratory and geological analysis center with the mission of transforming questions into discoveries. We believe in Brazilian science and promote impactful research through a structure designed to build tailor-made solutions to meet the needs of researchers and companies.
We have over 1,400 square meters of built area, divided between an analytical park, sample preparation laboratory, accommodation, and auditorium. We are guided by agility, excellence, and transparency, in an environment that fosters well-being and curiosity.
The name Tectos derives from the Greek word Téktos, which means “to build” or “to construct.” In Geosciences, it appears in important terms and at various scales. It is present in plate tectonics, the large blocks that make up the planet. It also appears in tectosilicates, the most abundant group of minerals in the Earth’s crust. In other words, the word is directly linked to our mission, which is to build relationships between the micro and the macro scales.
Our Founder
Tectos was founded and is run by geologist, researcher, and entrepreneur Daniel Grings Cedeño.
We are in the final stages of constructing our modern facilities, and therefore, the projected start date for operations is the first half of 2026.
